Young Marble Giants/ Furious Pig "I just found two pictures of this gig; nothing special, but maybe you'll find them interesting. Times were very hard in 1980 for a young student like me who used to spend his summers in England to see concerts and buy records. Camera films were very expensive back then, so I was only allowed to take two or three pics for each group!"
"Young Marble Giants played a nice gig, though they didn't have a great stage presence. But the songs were nice and, being a bass player myself, I appreciated Philip Moxham's style. I had already bought their album in Italy when it came out, after reading about it on some of the music magazines we were reading at the time."
Furious Pig, best known for "I Don't Like Your Face," here appearing to move like a post-punk Temptations. "An odd group, 4 skinheads (or this is what they looked like) singing and shouting with no music on the background and beating their chests with their hands. Strange it was!" |
